Compete with Colleagues to Predict HIV Severity

June 10, 2010

How likely is it that an HIV patient's infection will become less severe? A bioinformatics researcher at Drexel University has developed a competition on Kaggle that asks participants to find the markers in an HIV neucleotide sequence that could predict a change in severity of infection. Predictions will be tested against a dataset of 692 patients.

There is a $500 prize plus an opportunity to co-author a paper up for grabs. To join in the competition, or for more info, review the contest description here.
